Job Description
The learnership program is designed to train and equip learners with the skills to perform cash processing duties, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and banking SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
Key Responsibilities
Receiving Cash
- Receive deposits and update the system.
- Check for damages or tampering on bags/containers and report anomalies.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures to avoid risks.
Cash Processing & Sorting
- Process deposits according to bank SLAs and SOPs.
- Sort, count, and balance cash accurately.
- Handle rejected notes and report discrepancies to the Team Controller.
- Complete daily production sheets and balance per deposit.
Reconciliation
- Reconcile all rejected notes, checking for counterfeits and damaged cash.
- Perform end-of-day balancing for all received cash.
Desktop Deposit Processing
- Ensure all deposits are processed and balanced the same day.
- Report shortages and surpluses as per SOPs.
Coin Processing
- Process bulk coin deposits and teller coin transfers.
- Verify and balance coin bags, clear machine jams, and report differences.
Bank System Integration
- Validate system-linked transactions.
- Escalate system downtimes or errors to the Team Controller.
Payroll & Change Transactions
- Process payroll/change transactions within the bank’s SLA timeframes.
- Seal and prepare floats as per client requirements.
Prepack/Treasury Support
- Assist with packing/unpacking ATM and bank cash.
- Record bag and seal numbers accurately.
Equipment Management
- Use and maintain equipment according to SOPs.
- Report defects to the Team Controller.
Governance & Compliance
- Align with SBV Services' ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standards.
- Support SBV’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements.
Drive Company Culture & Change
- Promote company values, inspire confidence, and support change management efforts.
- Communicate new processes effectively and escalate concerns when needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 with Maths Literacy
- Training: Successfully completed SBV Cash Processor Training
- Experience: 6 months cashier/teller experience (Advantageous)
