What is the YES Programme?
The YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme is a business-led initiative in partnership with the South African government to combat youth unemployment. It provides young people with valuable workplace experience and new skills, boosting their chances of securing long-term employment.
Who Can Apply?
South African youth who:
- Are between 18 and 29 years old.
- Have a matric certificate.
- Are currently unemployed.
- Identify as African, Coloured, or Indian (as defined by the BBBEE Act).
- Have not participated in another YES Programme with any other organization.
Programme Duration
- 12 months of full-time, practical work experience.
- The programme is set to start on 1 June 2025.
- It is not a learnership, internship, or apprenticeship — it's quality work experience.
Monthly Stipend
- Participants will receive a monthly stipend to cover living, food, and travel costs.
- The stipend amount will align with the YES Programme guidelines.
Work Locations
- Work experience will take place at Nedbank branches, offices, and sites across South Africa.
- Hybrid or remote work may be an option for some roles, depending on job requirements.
- Shift work may apply — including weekends and public holidays — based on the role and department.
✅ Participants must be able to travel to and from the workplace.
