Position Purpose
The role involves providing labour support to ensure a safe, clean working environment and efficient cargo operations under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean operational equipment (e.g., ship-to-shore crane windows, crane cabins).
- Inspect container conditions.
- Monitor reefers (refrigerated containers).
- Open/close rail wagon twist-locks.
- Load, offload, and secure cargo following standard procedures.
- Hooking/unhooking cargo.
- Tarping/untarping (if required).
- Place/remove dunnage (cargo support materials).
- Clean operational areas, rail trucks, workshops, offices, and ablution facilities.
- Complete reports, including accident reports.
- Identify appropriate cargo handling equipment/gear.
Minimum Requirements
✅ Grade 12 / NQF Level 04 with 1 year terminal experience
OR
✅ Grade 10 / NQF Level 02 with 2 years terminal experience
