Main Purpose of the Job
To manage and coordinate all telephonic communication and systems within the hospital in a professional manner, ensuring efficient and effective communication on behalf of Mediclinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the hospital telephone system daily according to policies and procedures.
- Answer all calls timeously and professionally, ensuring excellent client service.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Check the hospital alarm system daily and notify the relevant department in case of an emergency.
- Follow the Hospital Emergency Preparedness Process in case of a disaster or emergency.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent
- Desired: None
Experience:
- Essential: No prior experience required
- Desired: Experience in private healthcare, switchboard operations, or hospital emergency procedures
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of hospital disaster and emergency procedures
- Knowledge of switchboard systems and operations
