Purpose of the Job
Transpharm, part of the Shoprite Group, is looking for an honest and enthusiastic Telesales Clerk to help generate sales and deliver excellent customer service.
You’ll assist clients via phone, chat, and email, handling orders, inquiries, and complaints, while also making outbound calls to promote products, boost sales, and build customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Customer Service Excellence:

Ensure zero dropped calls and 95% service level.

Handle inbound calls, chats, and emails — respond immediately and resolve complaints efficiently.

Log client queries and complaints accurately.
✅ Sales and Promotions:
-
Make outbound calls to promote products to existing and potential customers.
-
Cross-sell and upsell products to boost sales and retain customers.
-
Achieve sales targets and maintain a quality score of at least 80%.
✅ Administrative Accuracy:
-
Accurately capture phone, chat, and email orders into the system.

Follow Shoprite’s customer service principles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
-
Grade 12 (Matric) (Essential)
-
Call Centre certification or higher education (Desirable)
Experience:
-
6 months inbound call centre experience (Minimum)
-
6 months outbound call centre experience (Minimum)
-
Sales and client retention experience (Advantageous)
Skills & Competencies

Proven track record of meeting sales targets.

Strong customer service skills with excellent telephone etiquette.

Computer literacy — MS Office, call centre software, and CRM systems.

Target-driven with the ability to work under pressure.

Negotiation skills and confidence in handling objections.

Problem-solving and complaint resolution skills.

Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Multilingual — English and two other South African languages.
