Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Assistant/Driver plays a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This includes receiving, storage, order fulfillment, packaging, dispatch, and delivery, while maintaining accuracy, safety, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Storage:

Identify shipments and ensure correct stock allocation
Report and document any stock discrepancies (damaged, short/over-supplied items)
Ensure accurate storage placement of received stock

Order Fulfillment & Dispatch:

Identify correct shipment destinations (branches, customers, suppliers)
Package items to prevent damage during storage and transport
Coordinate deliveries and ensure on-time dispatch
Verify delivery details and liaise with dispatch controllers before leaving
Ensure proof of delivery (PODs) are scanned daily

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain accurate records and documentation as per company SOPs
Ensure two signatures on all stock transfer documents
Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure safe driving practices

Health & Safety:

Implement and enforce warehouse safety protocols
Conduct safety audits and inspections
Ensure all staff have valid certifications (forklift, first aid, driver’s licenses, etc.)

Minimum Requirements

✅ Matric (NQF 4)
✅ 2+ years warehouse experience
✅ 2+ years experience in deliveries
✅ 2+ years fleet and contract management
✅ Valid Code EC Driver's License
✅ Intermediate computer skills (Windows & MS Office Suite)
