Job Description:

Acquire knowledge and skills related to the designated trade of Instrument Mechanician.

Participate in the formal training plan for the apprenticeship and make reasonable progress in achieving required competencies.

Attend required training sessions and assessments as part of the apprenticeship program.

Perform duties and tasks assigned under the guidance of qualified Artisans/Technicians.

Maintain possession of your training logbook and present it upon request to the employer or training organization.

Understand that all training materials and instructions remain the property of the employer.

Assist in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing plant equipment and instrumentation.

Collaborate effectively with team members to complete maintenance tasks.

Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, work instructions, legislation, and company standards.

Participate in cable reticulation and the industrial installation of instrumentation circuits and equipment.

Support testing and commissioning of new instrumentation, DCS, and SCADA systems.

Use hand and power tools efficiently.

Comply with AECI safety standards and codes of practice.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
-
Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science.

N3 qualification (required to apply for Trade Test).

A valid driver’s license will be an advantage.

Basic understanding of process plants and the role of maintenance.

Must be able to obtain medical clearance to work in a chemical environment.
