Job Summary

Unitrans is looking for a skilled and experienced Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to transport goods to various clients as part of the Rainbow Hammersdale contract.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (or equivalent)

• Code EC Driver’s License with valid PrDP (DGP)

• Minimum 3 years of experience driving an ultra-heavy vehicle

• Must be 25 years or older

• Willing to work weekends and public holidays

• Literacy level – verbal and numerical

• Knowledge of defensive driving and load securing techniques

• Must have a clean criminal record

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle and conduct pre-trip inspections

• Load, transport, and offload goods

• Handle documentation and perform required ancillary duties

• Keep the vehicle, uniform, and PPE clean and in good condition

• Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded as per the National Road Traffic Act

• Secure loads before departure and oversee offloading

• Deal with clients professionally

• Adhere to SOPs and safety procedures

• Successfully complete:

• Medical evaluation

• USCS training

• Induction and practical driving evaluation
